MBF Cards Money For Nothing Program  
Terms & Conditions  

The Terms and Conditions herein are to be read together with and supplementary to the standard terms and conditions of MBF Cards (M'sia) Sdn. Bhd. ("MBFC")'s Card Agreement ("Card Agreement"). In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between this Agreement and the Card Agreement, the terms of this Agreement shall prevail in so far as applicable to the Program. The word "Card" means any credit card and/or charge issued by MBFC with an MBFC Line of Credit. The word "CardMembers" means the holder of the Principal Card, which shall exclude Supplementary Card for Balance Transfer. The word "The Program" means a Program is made available to Eligible CardMembers to enable CardMembers to transfer their outstanding balances from other credit card(s) and/or charge card account(s) not related to MBFC by the use of the Card ("Balance Transfer") and subject to the Balance Transfer is approved by MBFC the CardMembers will be entitled to get Cash Easy Payment Plan at 0% Interest ("CEPP") subject to the terms and conditions herein.

 

The Program will be valid from 5 May 2008 to 4 September 2008 (“Period”), both dates inclusive or any other date to be solely determined by MBFC from time to time.

This Program is only applicable to Eligible CardMembers who are also principal card holder of the other credit and /or charge cards that are still valid and billed in Ringgit Malaysia issued by other banks and financial institutions duly licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia (“Other Card Account”).

 

The Eligible CardMember may apply to transfer outstanding balances including principal, accrued interest, finance and other charges (“the Outstanding Balances”) from the Other Card Account to MBFC Card Account held in their name subject to the terms and conditions herein.

 

Each CardMember is eligible to participate only once in this Program and is entitled to one CEPP. Any subsequent Balance Transfer thereafter shall not be eligible for any additional CEPP under this Program.

 

All applications for CEPP are subject to approval and MBFC reserves the right to reject/decline any application without giving any reason whatsoever. MBFC has the absolute right to approve and/or transfer the whole or part of the amount of the outstanding balances applied without prior notification to or consent of the CardMember. MBFC is not obliged to assign any reason to the CardMembers in respect of the exercise of its discretion pursuant to this clause.

 

The CEPP amount approved is at MBFC’s sole discretion and is subject to the Eligible CardMembers’ credit standing at the material time of application. Based on the credit assessment, MBFC reserves the right to approve a lower CEPP amount from the said amount in the application.

 

Under the Program, the Eligible CardMember shall select any one (1) of the Balance Transfer option of RM1,000, RM2,000 and RM3,000 and be eligible for the CEPP amount of up to two times the Balance Transfer amount as shown in the Table below:

Balance Transfer amounts ranging from RM1,000-RM1,999.99 is eligible for RM2,000 CEPP, RM2,000-RM2,999.99 is eligible for RM4,000 and BT amount RM3,000 or above shall be eligible for a maximum CEPP amount of RM6,000

 

The CardMember shall indicate his/her selected CEPP repayment tenure of either 24 or 36 or 48 or 60 months. The CEPP equal monthly installment is derived from the total CEPP amount approved divided by the selected number of months in the CEPP repayment tenure. CardMembers must settle the CEPP monthly installment amount in full before the payment due date as specified in the CardMember’s Statement of Account. No interest will be imposed if the CEPP monthly installment is paid in full before the payment due date.

 

In the event that CardMembers fails to pay (or) pays an amount less than the monthly installment due, on the payment due date as specified in the CardMember’s Statement of Account, the normal Card Finance Charges shall apply and be levied on the remaining unpaid installment balance, from the due date until the date of full settlement.

 

The CardMember shall not be entitled to enjoy this Program’s CEPP at 0% interest if he/she defaults in payment of any amount due or breaches any term of this Program or CardMember Agreement during the Program Period.

 

Eligible CardMembers participating in this Program shall pay in full the Minimum Monthly Repayment that refers to the sum of the CEPP monthly installment plus the minimum 5% of the total amount owing (or RM50 whichever is higher) in the Statement of Account and any expenses incurred in recovering and/or obtaining payment and other charges, any due or overdue unpaid interest, any outstanding amount unpaid in the Minimum Monthly Repayment as shown in the preceding statement, excess of limit amount and any other amount owing as stipulated in the Cards Agreement. You shall be fully liable for the total amount due under the Program, Statement of Account and Cards Agreement even if your limit is exceeded or your Card is suspended or withdrawn or cancelled.

 

The CardMember shall not change the repayment tenure (or) the monthly installment payment once the application has been approved.

 

Completed and signed Money for Nothing application forms must be returned to MBFC via post, fax or any other method as may be prescribed by MBFC from time to time at its sole and absolute discretion.

 

For application forms received via fax by MBFC, CardMembers shall not dispute the content of the faxed copy as it is deemed a valid application form. Upon MBFC’s request, the CardMember must be able to produce the original completed and signed application form.

 

A notification letter will be sent to the Eligible CardMember advising whether or not his/her application for the Program has been approved. In the event that an application is approved, an approval letter together with a cheque of the approved CEPP amount will be mailed to the CardMember’s statement billing address. The cheque will be made payable in the CardMember’s name and Identity Card Number (as per National Registration Identity Card).

 

Upon MBFC’s notification, the CardMember is deemed to have unconditionally accepted the Terms and Conditions of the Program.

 

The CardMember must maintain the minimum outstanding balance of the Balance Transfer amount opted i.e. RM1,000 or RM2,000 or RM3,000, in the Card Account for the duration of the selected CEPP repayment tenure in this Program. A fixed interest rate of 1.5% per month or 18% per annum shall accrue immediately once the outstanding balances or part thereof is being transferred and/or debited into the CardMember’s account and shall be calculated on a daily basis on the agreed minimum Balance Transfer amount opted i.e. RM1,000 or RM2,000 or RM3,000. In the event that the outstanding balance in the CardMember’s Card account is below the agreed minimum Balance Transfer amount, the fixed interest rate of 1.5% per month or 18% per annum shall continue to effect on the agreed minimum Balance Transfer amount in the Program.

 

Normal Card Finance Charges shall only apply to the remaining outstanding balances transferred apart from the minimum Balance Transfer amount required i.e RM1,000 or RM2,000 or RM3,000 from the Other Card Account to MBFC Card Account.

Under this Program, the balance transfer amount will not be entitled for Bonuslink points.

 

Following MBFC’s approval of CardMember’s application, the CEPP monthly installment shall be billed to CardMembers Card Account on the next statement date. Payment of the CEPP Program monthly installment shall commence on the next statement date and shall be paid to MBFC on or before the payment due date stipulated on CardMember’s Statement of Account. Such payment shall continue throughout the repayment tenure until the full sum is settled.

 

Payment made by the CardMember to MBFC CardMember’s accounts shall be applied in the following order:

 

In the event that the CardMember opts to terminate/discontinue with this Program, ahead of the agreed CEPP repayment tenure, MBFC must be notified in writing.

 

MBFC shall be entitled to charge and debit to the CardMember’s Card account, an early settlement fee of RM300 under the following circumstances:

 

If CardMember breach any provision of the Card Agreement or cancellation of the Card or termination of the Card Account for whatsoever reason, all outstanding installments or balance of monies owing under the card shall become due and payable by the CardMember.

 

MBFC reserves the right to request/demand for any additional income statements or other documents where necessary in support of approving the application.

 

The CardMember is eligible to participate in this Program based on the condition that the conduct of their credit card account is regular and have sufficient available credit limit in the Card Account.

 

The payment to Other Card Account(s) will be effected within fourteen (14) working days from the date of approval by MBFC. However, MBFC may defer or withhold or subsequently decline the process of effecting balance transfer under certain circumstances which includes, but not limited to the following:

 

MBFC shall not be liable to the CardMember if MBFC defers or fails to effect the balance transfer. The CardMembers shall continue to be directly liable to respective Bank(s) and/or Financial Institutions which issued them their other credit cards for all other outstanding balances (principal, accrued interest, finance and other charges) on their Other Card Account(s) whether such outstanding balances have been incurred before or after MBFC’s approval of the Eligible CardMember’s application for the balance transfer.

 

In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Bahasa Malaysia version of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.

 

All terms and conditions stipulated herein are governed by and construed in accordance to the laws of Malaysia. The CardMember has read and understood all the terms and conditions specified herein and MBFC reserves the right to change, amend and/or modify any or all terms and conditions stipulated herein from time to time and/or terminate this Program without prior notice.
