Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Who is eligible to participate in this program?
    All CardMembers (both Principal and Supplementary) between the ages of 18 to 64 years old are eligible to participate.
  2. How do I pay for my subscription?
    Your monthly subscription is auto-deducted from your MBF Credit Card account on a monthly basis. Cash or cheque payment is not allowed. However your annual subscription amount will be blocked from your total credit limit and released on a monthly basis as you pay up.
  3. What is the validity of my membership?
    The program membership is for 1 year and is auto-renewable for the following years based on the available credit limit in your credit card account.
  4. Can I terminate my subscription as and when I decide?
    There is a cooling off period of 14 days in which you may cancel.
  5. Who underwrites the insurance cover in this program?
    Kurnia Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad.
  6. Will a medical check up be required prior to me signing up for the program?
    No medical check up is required.
  7. If I am holding policies from two insurance companies at the same time, can I claim under both policies?
    Yes, and the benefits and full pay-out will not be affected by other insurance covers except for the Medical Claim which you can only claim from one insurance.
  8. Is Death caused by accident covered under this Program?
  9. Can I participate in this Program if I am having any permanent disablement?
    No cover is extended to customers who have pre-existing conditions.
  10. Am I only covered in Malaysia?
    We provide you with daily 24-hour worldwide coverage for, without any regional and temporal restrictions. This means you are covered even if you are on holiday outside of Malaysia.
  11. What if my incurred costs for hospital is only RM50 per day, and I have subscribed to the program, how much will I be paid ?
    You will be paid RM150 per day regardless of how much you actually incur.
  12. What if I incur more than RM150 per day?
    You are entitled to a maximum of RM150 per day only.
  13. If I am hospitalized for 10 days, will I be paid for 60 days under Plan 1?
    No. You will only be paid for 10 days. However you are still entitled to the balance 50 Days until the policy lapses (1 year period) for subsequent hospitalization periods.
  14. If I am admitted due to sickness, am I entitled for the cash allowance?
    No the benefit is applicable only if the admission is a result of an accident.
  15. What is Credit Shield?
    Credit Shield benefit makes it possible for you to spend with peace of mind, knowing that your credit card repayments will be settled in the event of death due to accident up to the insured limit.
  16. What is the coverage?
    MBF Cards will be paid the outstanding amount which you owe or the maximum sum insured, whichever is lower.
  17. Is the cover extended to all other credit cards of mine?
    No. The cover is only for MBF Credit Cards.
  18. How do I make a claim?
    You may contact Kurnia Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad Claim Department at 1800-88-6333 or 03-7875 3333. They will send you a claim form to fill in. Please submit the duly completed form along with the required supporting documents.
  19. How long does Kurnia takes to settle the claim?
    Claims settlement will be made within fourteen (14) working days from the date of complete submissions of all relevant documents inclusive from the Third Party. Card Members will be responsible for submitting the relevant claims documents to Kurnia Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad.

  21. When will I receive my sign up goodies?
    You will receive your sign up goodies via mail upon approval of your application. The Certificate of Insurance will be forwarded to your billing address 1 month upon approval by Kurnia Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad.
