Appointment of MBF Cards as e-Debit Third Party Acquirer

Malaysian Electronic Payment System (1997) Sdn Bhd (MEPS) recently announced the appointment of MBF Cards (M'sia) Sdn Bhd (MBF Cards) as an e-Debit Third Party Acquirer.

With this partnership, MBF Cards will be installing e-Debit terminals at all their current merchant outlets as well as potential merchants. e-Debit, one of the applications available in Bankcard, enables consumers to make payments electronically at participating merchants by directly debiting their savings or current account.

John Ding , President, MBF Cards (M'sia) Sdn Bhd said, "We are truly heartened with our partnership with MEPs, the premier regional payment system services provider . This strategic alliance enables MBF Cards to participate in our government's call of moving towards a cashless society. MBF Cards has one of the largest networks of merchants in the country and now as MEPs' e-Debit third party acquirer, this provides convenience to the 16 million Bankcard holders in the country who can now make purchases at our merchant outlets."
